This rustic New Hampshire wall art is a handcrafted wooden state sign featuring detailed pyrography artwork inspired by the natural beauty and heritage of New Hampshire. It makes a meaningful gift for a New Hampshire native, someone who loves the White Mountains, or anyone who appreciates rustic outdoor décor.

Each piece begins with reclaimed wood fencing that I assemble into a pallet-style backdrop, creating an authentic rustic foundation for the artwork. I then draw and wood-burn every design element by hand using pyrography, a traditional technique often described as “drawing with fire.”

The artwork includes:

• The outline of the state of New Hampshire

• Decorative lettering with the state name and the year of statehood

• The famous state motto, “Live Free or Die,” across the bottom

• A hand-drawn compass rose in the upper corner

• A large moose standing before the White Mountains

The warm brown tones of the wood-burned artwork pair beautifully with the natural character of reclaimed wood. Each board is lightly sanded while preserving much of the original weathered patina created by years of outdoor exposure. Small cracks, nail holes, and aged markings are intentionally left in place to highlight the authentic rustic texture of the material.

Because reclaimed wood is used, every piece has its own unique variations in color, grain, and natural markings, making each sign one of a kind.
